2012 PASS Update: $180 Million Available for SSI Beneficiaries (Who Work at a Rate of 2.7% in WV) To Use Towards Self-Support

In December 2011, there were 25,744 individuals in West Virginia receiving both SSI and SSDI benefits. Click here for the 2011 version of this post,  here for the very similar 2010 version of this post and here for the 2009 version of this post. The average PASS totals about $7,000/year, which means that there is potentially $180,208,000 available for these beneficiaries to use towards a work goal.

In 2010 WV, only 2.7% of SSI recipients were working and there were only 12 active PASSes.

What's going on?
